Born to British and American parents in the United Kingdom, Clemmie Dugdale has been acting theatrically and in film and television since she was a child. A dual citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom, Clemmie received her training in acting on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean – at The Actors’ Temple in London and the T. Schreiber Acting Studio in New York. Her first role in front of the camera was when she played 13 Year Old Fuzzy in Jordan Scott’s CRACKS. Following this, Clemmie played the role of “Jenny” in Richard Curtis’s About Time and also performed in KING SAUD as “Tasha”. Clemmie’s first major role in a horror movie was as “Zoe” in A Haunting at Silverfalls The Return.
She is also in Daniel Alfredson’s upcoming INTRIGO Anthology, Intrigo: Dear Agnes which comes out soon. Clemmie has also enjoyed success acting in prominent roles for television and other forms of media. She played Jean Shrimpton’s sister “Chrissie” in the acclaimed BBC production We’ll Take Manhattan and performed the leading role of “Hannah” in an episode of the BBC’s long-running show, Doctors.
What was the most fun part of working on the film?
The shoot was 3 weeks, and the cast was great, it was like being back at school again, we regressed to being teenagers and found everything so funny.
What was it like to shoot in Oregon?
Oregon is beautiful, parts were very gloomy though! Silverfalls national park was incredible, perfect setting for a horror film.
What was the scariest part of working on such a scary movie?
We shot mostly at night so our sleeping pattern was a bit messed up, so as you can imagine your mind can start to play tricks on you!
What was the most challenging part of bringing the script to life?
The bath scene in where Zoe gets nearly choked to death by Ann, that was quite challenging to film, I was in a cold bath tub for hours and had to remain very focused but it was quite a challenge.
What do you love about the character you play?
She is very dry, and extremely loyal.
Who’s the funniest cast member to work with?
Harry Hains who played Trevor by far the weirdest/funniest person I have ever come across, he is like a magical vampire.
Why did you get into the entertainment industry?
I have always wanted to act, when I was younger I used to force my sibling to act in plays I made up to show to our parents and friends..poor them having to endure that!
What was the first project you worked on?
A film called Cracks directed by Jordan Scott, it stared Eva Green, we filmed in Ireland for three months it was a lot of fun
How did you find it?
Was like a dream, there was a great ensemble, all female cast but it was very challenging too as we had to learn how to dive and swim in freezing cold lakes!
What were your goals when you started?
I was very naive when I was younger so didn’t really think in those terms.
What are your future goals?
To remain focused, never give up and to always work
What difficulties (if any) did you encounter in Hollywood?
I still find navigating Hollywood difficult its a very bizarre place, its hard to not get down and sometimes anxious but I try to keep working on my craft and try and remember what I came here for.
What are you currently working on, and how did you arrive here?
I just got signed to a really good manager and am currently auditioning for various projects.
What are the biggest mistakes a person can make when they first start working in the industry?
To get ahead of themselves and get caught up in the scene.
