Are you a talented Folk Music Composer and Performer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills to an independent political-comedy film? Look no further! We are currently seeking a Folk Music Composer and Performer to join our creative team for an upcoming independent film project. Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, but it offers a chance to gain valuable experience and be part of an exciting project.

*Collaborate closely with the director to understand the film’s themes, tone, and musical requirements.
*Compose original folk music pieces that capture the essence of the film’s political satire and comedy.
*Perform the composed music as needed for the film’s soundtrack or specific scenes.
*Perform previously composed (public domain) folk songs, for the film’s soundtrack or specific scenes. Adapt and arrange existing folk music pieces to suit the film’s needs, as needed.
*Collaborate with the director to enhance the comedic impact of the scenes through music.
Provide creative input and suggestions to enhance the overall musical experience of the film.
*Proven experience as a Folk Music Composer and Performer (independent film experience is a plus). Proficiency in composing and performing folk music genres.
*Ability to capture and convey humor and satire through music.
*Strong musical arrangement and production skills.
*Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
*Flexibility to adapt to the needs of low-budget independent film production.
Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, and the budget for the film is limited. However, we believe in providing opportunities for emerging talent and creating a collaborative and fun working environment.
