First Assistant Director for Independent Comedy Film (Low Pay, Non-Union)
Are you an experienced First Assistant Director seeking an opportunity to showcase your skills in the realm of independent comedy films? We have a fantastic opening for you! We are currently seeking a First Assistant Director to join our creative team for an upcoming independent comedy film project. Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, but it offers a chance to gain valuable experience and be part of an exciting project.
SAG experience required.
Responsibilities:
*Collaborate closely with the director and production team to understand the vision and requirements of the film.
*Manage and complete SAG paperwork as necessary.
*Create call sheet.
*Coordinate and manage the (small) production crew, ensuring smooth operations on set.
*Oversee the organization and execution of each scene, maintaining continuity and adhering to the script.
*Communicate effectively with the cast and crew, ensuring everyone is aware of their schedule.
*Anticipate and resolve any logistical challenges that may arise during production.
*Maintain a safe and respectful working environment on set.
Requirements:
*Solid knowledge of SAG paperwork and procedures.
*Proven experience as a First Assistant *Director or similar role, preferably in comedy films (independent film experience is a plus).
*Strong knowledge of film production processes and set protocols.
*Excellent organizational and time management skills.
*Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Effective communication and leadership abilities.
*Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a low-budget independent film production.
Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, and the budget for the film is limited. However, we believe in providing opportunities for emerging talent and creating a collaborative and fun working environment.
