Dark & Darker, For Goths, By Goths Named Semi-Finalist at Rhode Island International Film Festival

We’re excited to announce that the film Dark & Darker, For Goths, By Goths has been recognized as a Semi-Finalist at the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) 2025.

The festival, which received over 7,650 submissions from around the globe, advanced the film through its first rounds of adjudication, distinguishing it among a highly competitive field of entries. While Dark & Darker will not be part of the official six-day program this year, it has been selected for future programming opportunities curated by the Flickers team. These include potential screenings with the Roving Eye International Film Festival, the PBS television series doubleFEATURE, and the annual *Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival.

RIIFF is widely regarded as one of the leading international film festivals in North America, celebrated for its focus on independent voices and innovative storytelling. Being recognized as a Semi-Finalist positions within an elite group of submissions that resonated strongly with the festival’s adjudicators.

This recognition adds momentum to Dark & Darker, For Goths, By Goths as it continues its journey through the festival circuit. The team’s work, described as both visually distinctive and culturally resonant, reflects a growing interest in projects that challenge traditional narratives while embracing subcultural identity.

Updates on upcoming screenings and appearances for the film will be announced in the months ahead.
