All-Women Folk Music Performance and Parody Group for Independent Comedy Film (Low Pay, Non-Union)
Are you a talented and spirited performer (or performance group who thrives on creating comedic folk music and parodies? We have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking an all-women folk music performance and parody group to join our creative team for an upcoming independent comedy film project. If you love the musical stylings of Misbehavin’ Maidens or Merry Wives of Windsor and have a knack for making audiences laugh, this is the perfect chance to showcase your talent. Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, but it offers a chance to gain valuable experience and be part of an exciting project.
Responsibilities:
*Collaborate closely with the director and production team to understand the comedic tone and themes of the film.
*Create original folk music pieces and parodies that align with the film’s storyline and humor.
*Perform as a group, bringing your energy and charisma to the screen and soundtrack.
*Coordinate choreography and stage presence to enhance the comedic impact of your performances.
*Collaborate with the film’s composers and production team to ensure a cohesive musical experience.
*Adapt and arrange existing folk music pieces or parodies to suit the film’s needs, if required.
*Bring creativity and humor to the process, adding your own unique flair to the performances.
Requirements:
*Experience as a part of an all-women folk music performance and parody group, preferably with experience in comedy films (independent film experience is a plus).
*Proficiency in performing folk music and creating humorous parodies.
*Strong vocal and musical abilities, both individually and as a group.
*Ability to capture and convey humor through music and performance.
*Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
*Flexibility to adapt to the needs of low-budget independent film production.
Please note that this is a low-paying, non-union position, and the budget for the film is limited. However, we believe in providing opportunities for emerging talent and creating a collaborative and fun working environment.
