What a week, right?

In one week, we faced the hard reality that abortion is now illegal for half of the women and birthing people in this country, and it will mainly impact at-risk communities, minority communities, and poor communities.

But even in our darkest hour, there are many shining a light of hope.

Organizations have begun setting up mobile clinics via vans, boats, and even overseas doctors who can prescribe abortion pills and Plan B medication via the US Postal Office.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat… we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, … we shall fight in the fields and in the streets … we shall never surrender.”

So I ask you now, to open your wallets for 5 organizations that are fighting the good fight for reproductive rights and equality.

Just The Pill

Leaders and organizers of “Abortion Delivered” a series of mobile clinics in vans that has been setup on the borders of many abortion barring states. As they say on their site: Everyone deserves respectful and accessible healthcare. Thanks to the generous donations of people like you, we are able to offer sexual and reproductive healthcare to patients in rural communities regardless of their ability to pay. Support our work so we can continue to offer sexual and reproductive healthcare to everyone in need. Make a secure donation today by clicking:

Women On Waves

Women on Waves aims to prevent unsafe abortions and empower women to exercise their human rights to physical and mental autonomy. Ultimately it is about giving women the tools to resist repressive cultures and laws.

Women on Waves was founded in 1999 by Doctor Rebecca Gomperts. After completing her training as an abortion doctor, Rebecca Gomperts worked as a physician on board Greenpeace’s ship, the Rainbow Warrior II. In South America she met many women who greatly suffer both physically and psychologically due to unwanted pregnancies and lack of access to safe, legal abortion. There were women who were raped. There were women who had no means of support. And there were women who were ostracized from their communities. These women and their stories are the inspiration for Women on Waves. Working in close cooperation with local organizations, Women on Waves wants to respond to an urgent medical need and draw public attention to the consequences of unwanted pregnancy and illegal abortion. Women on Waves supports the efforts of local organizations to change the laws in their country, and sea voyages, drones, and robots to countries where abortions are illegal. Donate at
